yeah i know what you mean sometimes it happens to me too, last picture i updated, when i clicked on full view it just dissapeared.so i uploaded and uploaded over and over but was the same. later when i returned to it it was normal. i think deviantart sometimes plays trick on us XD
This will never leave my harddrive.
It's so great to see how you create these images. I've been a fan of yours and Neb's "style" for such a long time now, and now thanks to these tutorials, I can finally begin to understand how these images, which were like ... wizardry to me a years ago, understad how they are made.
Though I still think it's wizardry, haha!
Oh, while I remember it ... I have a question.
For textures and brushes etc., do you use a lot of custom ones, or mostly just the ones that come with photoshop?
Haha, another question when I'm first at it, if I'm not too irritating.
What do you do when "blending" black edges? This has been a problem for me for a long time now. My black edges always destroy my pictures, as when I blend in the black edges, the colors just get greyish and ugly.
Anyway, that was a lot of questions. Answer if you feel like it.
Great work as always. I'll be drawing fish-scales tomorrow, wahaha!
- well for the brushes i mostly use photoshop ones, but if i reeeeaaaaaly badly need some that are not inside, for example petals, or some wierd moss like grass, i make them myself. its qite easy .. you draw desired pattern on i dunno 120 x120 or so, and go on--> edit ---> defined brush preset. and then you get it.. a petal brush..or whatever you draw..
and as for the textures im too lazy to import some new ones, so im usually using options as dual brush to cover up the texture and make it look a bit different. i usually leave importing new stuff to neb.. .. as i said.. im too lazy.. XD
- well i usually blend black edges, and it really does look ugly, but i put more colour overlays to cover it up.. examp. i use light reddish- orange colour on option hard light which turn black into brownish orange colour.. and it blends nicely.. and if i still dont like it, i do it again.. its important to overlay with even different colours which you never imagined they would exist on such a place(exp. greenish colour on some parts of skin).. that way it makes the overall colour interestng, and not only one-two toned..
nah it was no big deal, i love to help whenever i can, and i feel so happy when i see people are interested in painting..
weee im so happy!!! glad it wasd usefull!! keep up the good work!!!
well we all need time to figure some things out, but if we are persistent in what we want, and work hard all day everyday.. we will gain knowledge much faster. and if you have someone to show you some tricks its much easier...
