hehe this is a traditional work, and i decided to give it a go with acrylics for a little bit as a practice on the lighting. i was working on it on the day of New Year and had quite fun on it :) i dont remmember how long it took..

i used reference of course ^^ this is a shot from a movie made after Anderw Lloyd Weber's play "Phantom of the opera" and they made it amazingly good, whoever didnt watch it, i would suggest you do. the colours in the movie are stunning and the atmosphere enchanting, and of course i adore the story.. when i first watched it i was completely devoured by it. you could see me sitting on the couch waving a little flag that had a mask on it XD

oh.. and i hate my scanner.. it got a bit old and started producing those annoying blue lines ^^;

cheers!

Gaaaaaah! So amazing! Lovely lovely lovely impressionistic feel! This coloring and lighting is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Absolutely amazing traditional work. And even if the scanner did botch it, don't worry, it still looks beautiful... *.*

Acrylic genius! I demand more like this! =D
So beautiful; certainly one of your best!! Not seen or heard the play/movie, but now I certainly want to. xD

How are acrylics painting with anyway? And how big is the original?

The blue lines.. Pff, didn't notice anything before you mentioned it. :)

Phantom of the opera is one of my favorites books. You have done a great job here, and that dark atmosphere is very appropiate about Erik. I love this!
