this is a contest prize for the winner

from a

competition. it was held all the way till the end of november.. and uh i apologize for being late with the prize

the prize was for me to draw whatever the winner of the contest desired, so

commisioned me to draw Vincent Valentine's father, Grimoire.
Luckily i found a site with some resources about him so it wasnt very hard

i imagined him sitting in his workplace late in the night trying to write a letter to Vincent but after a series of failures (see crumpled paper on floor) he just fell asleep thinking too much..
isnt it just sad how geniuses can make anything work when they put their complex thoughts onto and yet the biggest obstacle is one simple letter

its done completley in photoshop cs2 and i was doing it little by little so it seemed to have taken a long time..

Wow, I hadn't realized from playing the game just how much Grimoire's outfit looks like Vincent's post-Turks outfit!

This is a really great work!

I love the picture of Vincent on the table; it's a great touch.

Man it's weird, my headcannon for this dude is that he's a huge fan of writing letters/keeping a journal, so this picture is just perfect.

To this day, I'm unsure of why a game apparently made to explain Vincent's past pretty much glossed over Vincent's FATHER. o.o
